In the categorie expat stories, we’re trying to tell the stories of expats who moved to Asturias. Their reasons to move are all very diverse. So are their experiences.

Guillermo is a Mexican boy that came to Gijón to study communications, he especially likes the neighborhood he lives in: Cimadevilla. There are many differences between Gijón and Mexico City. While Gijón has approximately 300,000 citizens, Mexico City has more than 8 million citizens.

On the other hand, Mexico city is the capital and largest city of Mexico and the most-populous city in North America. The area that Mexico City occupies comes to a total of 1,485 square kilometers. However, the area that Gijón occupies comes to a total of 181,6 square kilometers. In this context, the adaptation to a new life in Gijón could be quite shocking and challenging for anybody, but not for Guillermo; he really enjoyed his days in Asturias.
